Bathers and Figures
As Mondrian wrote about Cezanne’s work “The Bathers” that how beauty was created not by the objects he represented but “by the relationships of form and color,” while Kandinsky emphasized the paintings as his “gift of seeing the inner life in everything.”
Similarly for this series, I picked out the different size of canvases so that the sight fills the whole field of landscape view. It shows a timeless nature, without any external reference but attaching myself to the contemporary world. The figures portrayed are free and uninhibited near the waterside or sometimes in wild forest. This float between abstract and figurative which is both familiar and mysterious.
